What is an AI Chatbot?

An AI chatbot is an application that you can train to provide human-like conversations using natural language processing and machine learning algorithms.

It will understand and respond to user inputs. So, you can train it on your content and it’ll act as a support for your listeners. They can ask questions and it’ll respond with answers. Just like you would.

You can embed the chatbot on your website that hosts your podcast. And where customers visit to ask questions about the podcast episodes and related topics.

Benefits of Using an AI Chatbot

1. You get better engagement with listeners

The AI chatbot is available 24/7 for your listeners as it answers questions about episodes, guests, and topics.

This is great to keep your listeners engaged and build a strong connection with them. They feel satisfied being able to get their doubts and queries resolved without having to wait a long time.

2. It can save you a ton of time

As a podcaster, you know the tedious tasks you need to do after recording an episode. You need to create episode summaries, link to related content, and write the FAQs.

The AI chatbot can do all of this for you when you train it with your episode content. Listeners can ask for the summaries and related content. And the chatbot will generate them with ease.

3. You can give the listener a personalized experience

You train the AI chatbot on all your podcast episodes. When a listener has questions, it can give answers. But it can also make suggestions to other episodes and content that the listener would find useful.

This is a great way to get them to listen to more of your podcast and get a personalized experience.

4. You get valuable data about your listeners

As the chatbot interacts with listeners, it can collect data on interactions, preferences, and common questions.

This data can help you understand your audience better and create content to meet their needs and interests.

5. You can make money promoting products

You can train the AI chatbot with information about your products, merchandise, or premium content.

It can help listeners find the right product that may be suitable for their needs.

6. The AI chatbot is scalable

Your podcast will grow popular over time and more listeners will engage with it. But managing their queries can become a challenge.

An AI chatbot scales effortlessly, handling an increasing number of queries without additional resources. It makes sure every listener feels attended to personally.

The Chatbot Editor shows you how your chatbot will appear as a chat box and a chatbot bubble. We can customize and train the chatbot using our podcast data.

Apply the General Settings

Let’s look at the general settings for the Toasty AI chatbot under the Chat tab.

Name: You can give the chatbot any name you want and it appears at the top of the chat box. You can have different chatbots on different parts of your website and each can have a different name.

Chatbot Representative Name: You can give your chatbot representative a name as well. When users interact with the chatbot, this is the name they’ll see in the chat.

Starter Messages: You can customize the messages that the user sees when they start the chatbot. For example, “Hi there, how are you doing today?”.

Suggested Messages: These are the messages that are suggested to the user when they start the chatbot. For example, I find it useful to add the “Frequently Asked Questions” here.

Chatbot Representative Icon: You can change the icon displayed in the chat for the chatbot representative.

Chatbot Bubble Icon: The chatbot bubble is the small icon you see on the lower right side of your website when you embed the chatbot. You can customize this icon as well.

Colors: Your podcast will have its own set of brand colors. You can customize the Toasty AI Chat box and Bubble so they also use the same set of colors.

Once you’re done with the general settings, click the Save Changes button to save all your settings.

Give Training Data to Toasty AI

The next setting that is crucial is the AI training data. You’ll find this under the Training Data tab. You need to upload podcast episodes so the AI can use that to train itself.

You can use already uploaded data or you can upload more for this training.

Use all uploads: You can enable this option if you want to train the chatbot on all your uploads, existing and new.

Use specific uploads: You can select specific uploads you’ve already done to train the AI chatbot.

Hit the Save Changes button after you’ve changed the settings to save them.

Customize the AI Prompt

The next tab is for Prompt Engineering. You can customize the AI prompt to define the personality and role of the AI chatbot.

It sets the tone for how the chatbot interacts with your listeners, making it friendly, professional, or however you prefer.

System Message: This is where you can customize the AI chatbot with the personality and tone that you need.

Make the needed changes and click the Save Changes button.

Test the Chatbot You Created

You’ve done all the settings and trained the AI chatbot with your data. I would suggest testing it out before you embed it on your website.

This is easy to do with the chatbot window you see in Toasty AI. Just ask questions as a listener of your podcast would. Then check the answers are accurate and in the tone and personality that you need.

Embed the Chatbot on Your Website

You’ve customized the Toasty AI chatbot for your podcast and now it’s time to embed it on your website. You’ll find the embed code under the Embed tab.

By default, the chatbot is private and you’ll need to click Make Public to use it on your website.

Embed with Chat Bubble: Use this embed code on your website pages where you want the chat bubble to appear at the bottom right. You need to copy and paste the code just before the closing </body> tag in your website’s HTML.

Embed only Chat Box: Use this embed code to install the chat box into pages on your website. There will be no chat bubble available.

OpenAI’s GPTs

GPTs are a tailored version of ChatGPT that anyone can make and use in their daily life, at specific tasks, at work, or at home.

You can make a custom version of ChatGPT that you train your podcast episodes with. Then embed that on your website as an AI chatbot.

You don’t need any coding to use GPTs. You can create one with a conversation, give it instructions, choose what it needs to do and it will be ready.
